Service description
Court authority to deal with a deceased person's estate — probate when there is a will, letters of administration when there is none.

Collect the death certificate, the will (if any) and a list of the estate's assets.

Engage a lawyer — probate applications are filed through the Supreme Court Registry.

The Registry examines the application and issues the grant.

Use the grant to transfer property, close accounts and settle the estate.
Executors named in a will, or the closest relatives of the deceased.
